David Sanders, owner and operator of Personal Touch in Fayetteville since 1986, has recently earned certification in the new dustless wood floor care system.

Over the firm’s 32 years in operation, Personal Touch has achieved many awards and certifications, including the Best in Business Award and the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award in both Tennessee and Alabama.

“I have earned three Masters in the fields of cleaning and restoration; however, it’s important to keep up with the changes and to learn new skills,” said Sanders. “It’s exciting.”

Sanders attended the Basic Coatings University in Bowling Green, Ohio. The course covered wood floor identification, board repair and replacement, screening, sanding, removing and applying finish.

“Wood floors need proper care,” Sanders said. “Customers and housekeepers are using all kinds of wood polishes, finishes and cleaning agents; however, in time you have a product buildup, leaving the floors looking dull and lifeless. Sometimes children damage the wood floors by scooting toys and things on the wood floor, and pets’ nails scratch floor finish. Our wood care system addresses all these problems.”

Personal Touch uses a wood floor maintenance machine that deeply cleans wood floors without damaging the finish. Floors are immediately dry after use.

The training Sanders received at the Basic Coating University is state-of-the-art, far superior to any competitive system on the market today, he said. For example, once wood floors are cleaned and finish is applied, customers can walk on floors in less than 24 hours. No dust or mess, and inexpensive in price.

“Before using any finish or cleaning solutions on your wood floor, give us a call first,” he said. “We will help you. “

The different finishes that were used in the class were especially formulated for high traffic wood floors like sports gym courts, and when applied on residential wood floors, it works well against pet nail scratches. Students that attended the university were from Denver, Atlanta, Ohio, southern Alabama, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Michigan, Georgia, Utah and Tennessee.

Personal Touch offers the following services: carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, ceramic tile and grout cleaning, air duct cleaning, water damage restoration, fire damage restoration, odor control, construction cleanup, Oriental rug cleaning, mold remediation, and hardwood floor care.

Personal Touch also offers free estimates and demonstrations.

Sanders also announced that his daughter, Jamiah, will be managing commercial accounts starting Nov. 15 – “We are pleased to see her take a leadership role in our family business,” he said.
